Did you know that nearly 100% of teenage boys and 70% of men suffer from porn addiction?
Most Christian men try to escape this by redefining addiction.
Perhaps the numbers aren’t as severe as this statistic, but the consequences of porn addiction are ravaging marriages, families, churches, and businesses across the world. We need a way of escape.
Nate Larkin, founder of the SamsonSociety, reveals a way of escape in this episode of the Man in the Pew. Through sharing his story, he emphasizes the importance of confession, community, and commitment in recovery.

3 Ways to Overcome Porn Addiction:
#1: Confess. Overcome the barrier of denial. Quit telling yourself, “It’s not that bad.” It’s time to confess.

In Romans 7, Paul reveals the nature of sin and addictions: “I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 2 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.2 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?2 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!”
#2: Community. Join a community. This can’t be handled in privacy.
I wanted a private solution to a private problem. In short, I wanted to be like God.
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16
#3: Commit. Realize that you’re always in recovery.

Paul acknowledges at the end of his life that he is the chief sinners (1 Tim. 1:15). We are daily in need of God’s grace and we must seek it like a horse needs water.
